The criteria for evaluation in teaching/methodological and practice-oriented trajectories, as approved by academic councils of respective faculties / regional campuses
At HSE University, three types of employment agreements are being introduced, which are underpinned by a flexible system of professional (career) trajectories, coupled with special mechanisms for selection, incentivizing and appraising employees. As the University’s goals become more diverse and complex, it needs more professionals with non-academic backgrounds, in addition to academic staff with scientific achievements. Moreover, the University is still striving to attract highly qualified teachers, who do not always have academic achievements. Therefore, in addition to an academic career track, two types of professional trajectories are being put in place: practice-oriented and teaching/methodological.
Under each trajectory, career growth may be attained along three tracks: you can rise through the teaching ranks; you can receive honorary statuses under each trajectory; or, you can get promoted to administrative positions by taking on managerial duties.
When filling in an e-application, you will need to indicate your preferable professional (career) trajectories, i.e., where you see your best career growth at HSE University (first and second priority):
The academic trajectory is characterized by the execution of teaching activities, whereby research outcomes are actively engaged, as well as regular research work, high academic output, participation in academic conference, and work with doctoral students;
The teaching/methodological trajectory is characterized by high-quality course instruction, active teaching/methodological work and/or project work with students, methodological and technical support for courses (e.g., e-courses), without systematic academic achievements (necessary number of publications) and practical/applied work outside of the academic sphere;
The Practice-oriented trajectory is characterized by teaching activities with active engagement in the results of practical activities, practical experience, organization of project work related to applied research and expert analysis, as well as new product development, current or previous professional activities outside of the academic sphere, consultation and/or expert and analytical activities, along with applied research.
